Nido Dorato
Programmed at the Traffic Festival Pergola Italy 2023 and Nederlandse Dansdagen Festival Maastricht 2023.
Artist in Residence. Earlier this summer, Marc Vlemmix Dance did a residency in Pergola Italy, invited by Alter-Art Festival. Chinnoe & Vlemmix as associate artist for Marc Vlemmix Dance was part of an international collaboration between different European partners. After the festival we continued our exploration. Inspired by the rich cultural historical context of an old dilapidated furniture factory, in development into a creative space.
We created the short film “Nido Dorato”, which premiered Sunday 23 July 19.30h at the Traffic Festival in Pergola. In collaboration with Ca’Palazzo.

I Found You
Programmed at the Nederlandse Dansdagen Festival Maastricht 2022, television Open Rotterdam 2022
and “De Nacht van het Witte Doek” in Deurne 2023
The film had its premiere on June 21, 2022 at Leyden Academy's Arts and Health Festival on Vitality and Ageing. Prof. dr. Executive director Tineke Abma commented on the film:
“Every time I am impressed how Marc converts his feelings into dance and how dance is a lasting way out that guides him through this process. He shows a lot of knowledge and existential complexity that is stored in the body and is inexpressible. My compliments, also to Rosan!”
It is these stories of Courage, Beauty, Love and Hope that Marc Vlemmix Dance wants to share with you, a gift from person to person, a smile,
a shoulder, a heart under the belt for everyone who wants to receive it.

Dans met de Maan
This film is a gesture, a gift from person to person. A smile, a shoulder, a heart under the belt for everyone who wants to receive it: “Love life, and don't be afraid”. At the end of 2019, just before the Corona outbreak, twelve people put on the naughty (dance) shoes, led by Marc Vlemmix and Rosan Chinnoe. Not hindered by any lack of dance training or by the physical limitations due to their age and/or consequences of their Parkinson's, Rheumatism or MS, they stepped into the spotlight. Packed with a good dose of courage, curiosity and an enormous “Lust for Life”.

On / Off
March 2020 and then suddenly you are all at home. Alone. The shelves empty. The freezer is full. Many people are experiencing difficulties in fulfilling their lives within the limitations of the Corona measures. How do you do that? Living with limited freedom of movement? At the beginning 2020, just after the Corona outbreak, twelve dancers put on the naughty (dance) shoes under the leadership of Marc and Rosan. The result is the short dance film On /Off.
On/Off is the repercussion of the bizarre year, a rollercoaster, about loneliness and connectedness, about unrest and uncertainty, about trust and pride, but also conviction and resilience. Sensible to everyone, with or without a physical limitation, because during the lock-down everyone suddenly had a "physical limitation". We are a dance company of people who are used to living daily with limitations, with the uncertain possibilities of a faltering body. We are Marc Vlemmix Dance. A company of people who have found each other in dancing. We dance to keep body and mind moving and thus positively influence our quality of life. We are happy to give people who need it to “participate” a helping hand. People for whom the threshold is now raised even more by the Corona in our lives. And now we need it even more. With our personal stories we hope to inspire and challenge others to search for Courage, Beauty, Love and Hope.

Solo 2
Gather some courage every morning. Legs over the edge of the bed. Find support on the wall, the door handle and the kitchen worktop.
On my way to get my pills. As long as possible under your own power. Not a continuous battle. But mind to zero and just carry on. And then a little bit on top of that. Challenge myself. Express myself expressively. To find the limitlessness. With trial and error. Looking. To that one moment. Where there is no heaviness. Where time doesn't tick. And those fine seconds seem to last forever. "Grateful for the urge in me to keep doing what I do". Beautifully expressed in the song OLV by Tourist LeMC From the album "We begrijpen mekaar". Take a moment to listen to his music.

Solo 1
I thought about it for a while. No, nothing new. I do what I do, I've been sharing bits of my life for years. Do things that make me happy. Challenge myself, learn to look at myself, to see, to find beautiful, with everything there is. Working hard, to get better, no not from the Parkinson's but better at my dance. If you succeed, it is not only fun, but it gives the feeling of being "the boss is your own house". My partner Rosan Chinnoe experiences up close how I move through it, how I sometimes fight, push and pull. As a soul mate, he is not only the one who filmically captures me in what I do and how I experience things, but he is also my dance partner. Outside view, though. Only he is able to intuitively feel, follow and make my movement. Not a solo but a duet. I would love to share our story with you. As often as possible. And also stories from other like-minded people.
